Hazel overview
Hazel is your personal housekeeper, organizing and cleaning folders based on rules you define. Hazel can also manage your trash and uninstall your applications.
Organize your files using a familiar rule interface. Filter on the file's name, type, date, the site or email address it came from and more. And do more than just file. You can set color labels, Spotlight keywords and comments and even archive files. Hazel also cleans, sporting options to clean out incomplete and duplicate downloads. All this is done automatically in the background allowing you to focus on your real work.
In addition, Hazel can manage your Trash for you, relieving you of having to empty it yourself.

New Features
- Glass look for Tahoe.
- Added menu icons on Tahoe.
- New folder options to tell Hazel how do deal with cloud-only files.
Interface changes:
- Worked around Apple bug which would cause Hazel's icon to be shown for external drives in Finder's sidebar. May still cause problems for items at the top level of drive if they are in the sidebar, in which case it is recommended that Hazel's Finder extension be disabled in System Settings.
- Preview is now done in the background so as to not lock up UI.
- Fixed lack of scrollbar when bringing up text replacement popover.
- Popups in actions that are used to select a file/folder should now all have a "Show in Finder" option.
- Years in date formats now default to 4 digits.
- Fixed width of folder pane becoming too wide and unable to be resized down.
- Fixed rule rows' +/- buttons not laying out properly when window is wide.
- Fixed crash in rule status.
- Numerous tweaks/fixes/workarounds for Tahoe.
Core changes:
- Fixed getting wrong version of OCR text in cases where rules in the same ruleset use different OCR options.
- Fixed rare case where preview may show different results than when actually run.
- Misc fixes.

fair prized update... user since 1.0 ... the first non Apple App that get's installed on a new Mac OS.

I started using Hazel around version 2 (I believe that was in 2007). The updates have always been fairly priced and, for me, worth the cost. The last update was approximately four years ago. Hazel simply works, and works well once you understand how it works and how to set Hazel up properly. From complex to simply commands, you can easily master the mess of files on your Mac.

I'll give it a try, it looks useful, but I will never buy it, no matter how useful. $42? Really? roflmao. To put it in perspective $42 is more of an entire application suite money, not utility money. Most of these small utility apps are between $1.99 and $9.99 on the app store.
They should sell it for $9.99 at the most, per version, then have an upgrade fee of half that for a new major version release. Then they could offer a lifetime license for $29.99.
That would be fair.
It's too bad, when they get greedy, it only hurts themselves.
You would sell more copies, and make more money by being reasonable.
But, again, I want to try it, it sounds useful.
There are other apps that do the same that are not scam pricing though.
And from just reading the reviews below, it may not even work anyway... smh
